Help & Advice
How do I know what tyre size I need?
Your tyre size is printed on the sidewall of your existing tyre. You'll find more detail in the questions for each tyre type below, or in our tyre size guide. If you're still unsure, get in touch and our team will help.
Do you offer a fitting service?
No. We're a supply-only business, so we don't offer a fitting service.
Where are you based?
We're a family run business based in Wrexham.
How can I contact you?
You can email us at info@tyresuppliers.co.uk or use the form on our contact page.
Caravan & Trailer Tyres
What size caravan tyre do I need?
Check the sidewall of your current tyre for a code such as 185/65R14 93N. This shows the width, profile and rim diameter, along with the load and speed rating of the tyre. Always match this exactly when ordering a replacement.
Are caravan and trailer tyres the same as car tyres?
No. Caravan and trailer tyres are built with a different construction to handle the loads and towing conditions of a trailer, and should not be substituted with standard car tyres.
Do you stock tyres for horse boxes?
Yes, several of our trailer and caravan tyre sizes are suitable for horse boxes. Check your handbook for the correct size before ordering.
What brands of trailer and caravan tyres do you stock?
We stock Kenda, GT Radial, Deli and Starco tyres across our trailer and caravan tyre range.
How long do caravan tyres last, and how often should they be replaced?
There is no fixed legal limit, but most tyre and caravan industry experts recommend replacing tyres once they reach around 5 to 7 years old, regardless of tread depth, as the rubber compound hardens and degrades with age. Always check for cracking, bulges or perishing on the sidewall, particularly if the caravan has been in storage.
What is the best tyre pressure for caravans?
Tyre pressure varies by caravan model and load, so always check the plate on your caravan or your handbook for the correct figure rather than relying on a generic number. Underinflated tyres increase the risk of a blowout while towing, so it is worth checking pressures before every trip.
Trailer Wheel & Tyre Assemblies
What is included in a trailer wheel and tyre assembly?
Each assembly includes a wheel and tyre already fitted together, ready to bolt straight onto your trailer axle.
How do I know which wheel and tyre fits my trailer?
Check the sidewall of your current tyre for its size code, and check your wheel for its stud count, PCD, centre bore and offset. These all need to match your trailer exactly.
Do all trailer wheels have the same bolt pattern?
No. Bolt patterns vary by stud count and PCD (pitch circle diameter). Always check your existing wheel before ordering a replacement.
Can you use car wheels on a trailer?
No. Car wheels and tyres often do not meet the load requirements of a trailer. Trailer wheels and tyres are manufactured with appropriate load ratings, specifically for trailer use.
Do you sell wheels and tyres separately as well?
Yes, if you prefer to choose your rim and tyre separately, see our trailer rims and trailer and caravan tyres collections.
Do you stock wheels for static caravans and mobile homes?
Yes, we stock a wheel and tyre option for both static caravans and mobile homes.
Trailer Rims
What size trailer rim do I need?
You will need to know the rim width and diameter, stud count, PCD (pitch circle diameter) and centre bore measurements. You will also need to know the offset.
Are rim measurements stamped onto the rim?
Partly. Rim width, diameter and offset are often stamped onto the rim (this could look something like 5.5Jx12 ET0). However, PCD and centre bore generally require physical measurement.
How do I measure centre bore?
Simply measure the diameter of the hole in the centre of the rim.
What is PCD and how do I measure it?
PCD stands for pitch circle diameter, which is an imaginary circle formed through the centre of the rim's stud holes. Measurement practices vary depending on stud quantity.
Do you sell rims on their own, or only with tyres fitted?
We stock rims on their own in our trailer rims collection. If you would prefer a wheel and tyre already fitted together, see our trailer wheel and tyre assemblies range.
Quad & ATV Tyres
What's the difference between ATV and UTV tyres?
ATV tyres are typically designed for quad bikes and lighter off-road use. UTV tyres are built for side-by-side vehicles carrying heavier loads at higher speeds, often with a firmer construction and different tread pattern.
Can I change my existing quad tyre size?
We do not recommend changing from the manufacturer's specifications, which take into account the load, speed and gearing of the vehicle. Changing the size could also affect your insurance and the safety of the vehicle.
What brands of quad tyres do you stock?
We stock Kenda quad and ATV tyres, including the Bear Claw, Bear Claw XL, Mastodon and Klever X/T ranges.
Turf Tyres
What are turf tyres?
Turf tyres are generally designed with a shallow, closely spaced tread pattern to minimise damage to grass and lawns, unlike standard tyres which use deeper, more aggressive treads. They are commonly used on ride-on mowers, lawn tractors and grass tractors.
Can turf tyres be used on the road?
No. Turf tyres are not for highway use. This is generally stated on the tyre sidewall as NHS (Not for Highway Service).
What size turf tyre do I need?
Check your mower's handbook or the sidewall of your current tyre for a size code such as 20x8.00-10. Match this exactly when ordering a replacement.
Do turf tyres work in snow?
Generally, turf tyres are designed to protect the grass rather than provide traction in snow or ice. However, we do stock more aggressive tread patterns which may be better suited to these conditions.
Do I need an inner tube with my turf tyre?
All of our turf tyres are tubeless. However, inner tubes can still be used should your rim require one.
Why would my rim require an inner tube?
Rims may require an inner tube by design or, more often, due to corrosion. If a rim is corroded, it can prevent a tubeless tyre from creating an airtight seal.
What brands of turf tyres do you stock?
We stock Kenda and Deli turf tyres, including the Kenda K500 range.
Can I use turf tyres on a ride-on lawn mower and a grass tractor?
Yes, our turf tyre range covers a variety of sizes suitable for ride-on mowers, lawn tractors and grass tractors. Check the size against your machine before ordering.
